Job summary

Costain is recruiting a Senior Planner for our Sale project in the North West. You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the project programme to keep the work on track across pre-construction and delivery phases.

The role requires monitoring the design programme, developing the delivery programme as design information becomes available, and maintaining the programme through handover and closeout. Site presence of at least 3 days per week is expected.

Job description

Costain have won extensive work across the water sector this year to support the AMP 8 investment cycle.

We have been appointed by United Utilities as one of 7 partners to the Enterprise, delivering £5.5bn of projects in the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) between 2025 – 2030, and AMP 9 (2030 – 2035). Our scope is to provide project management, design, construction and commissioning services on design and build schemes throughout the North West and Cumbria region covered by United Utilities. Projects vary in value, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets on water and wastewater sites with wider Enterprise partners.

Reporting to the Planning Lead, the Senior Planner will be responsible for ensuring the projects are kept on track by updating and maintaining the project programme. Initially the role will be in the pre-construction phase, monitoring the design programme and developing the delivery programme with the design information as it becomes available. The programme would continue to be maintained through the delivery phase through to handover and closedown.

This role is based on our Sale project and site presence required 3 days a week minimum
