Job description

Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Senior Planner to join them on a permanent basis. You will be joining their site based in Newcastle.

About the Senior Planner role
The Senior Planner will be responsible for owning and maintaining the business-wide resource plan for key output activities. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate vision and strategy into practical plans while ensuring that planning is an integral part of the project management team.

Other responsibilities of the Senior Planner include:
Define and deliver output reports, including load/capacity, work-to lists, and project schedules.
Develop the planning timetable and activities, implementing the planning process into output and project teams.
Work closely with project teams to maximise collaboration across the business.
Ensure a high standard of planning and reporting in a timely manner.

About You
The ideal Senior Planner will bring a high level of technical expertise, either through a degree in planning or a related discipline, or substantial planning management experience in a relevant industry sector.

Other requirements of the Senior Planner include:

Experience working at a strategic level to translate vision and strategy into practical plans.
Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project planning tools, and ERP/MRP software.
Knowledge of complex engineering and construction projects, particularly in offshore energy, is advantageous.
Rigorous in following documented processes and governance, with the ability to innovate creatively to meet project challenges.
