Senior Project Planner Government & Defence Projects
Location: London (hybrid 2 days in the office or on client site, 3 days from home)
Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, plus car allowance and benefits

I m working with a global consultancy that s expanding its Project Services team in London, looking for a Senior Project Planner to take a lead role on key government and defence projects. You ll be working directly with directors and senior managers to own project schedules, manage delivery, and help grow the planning capability in London.

This company delivers end-to-end services from consulting and engineering to programme and construction management. In the UK, they have over 5,000 experts across sectors including infrastructure, energy, environment, and international development. Globally, they re 28,000 strong across more than 100 countries.

What the role involves:

  • Leading planning activities on major government and defence programmes across the UK
  • Managing project schedules, resource allocation, and risk alongside senior stakeholders
  • Working closely with directors to develop and grow the planning team in London
  • Using Primavera P6 or Asta, Power project to deliver robust, clear programme controls
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including cost, risk, engineering, and PMO
  • Hybrid working with regular in-person meetings and client site visits

  • Experienced project planner with a proven track record in government, defence, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage complex schedules and stakeholder expectations
  • Comfortable mentoring junior planners and helping build out a team
  • Ready to work from the London office 2 days a week (or client site as needed)
