Job Opportunity: Senior Planner - Construction

Location: Midlands

Sector: Main Contractor - Construction

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: Negotiable (dependent on experience)

We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor to recruit a Senior Planner to join their growing construction team. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the successful delivery of major projects across the Midlands. The head office is based in the East Midlands, but areas covered will be across both East and West Midlands.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and manage robust construction programmes from pre-construction through to project handover.
2. Collaborate with bid, design, and site teams to ensure accurate planning and smooth delivery.
3. Attend site visits and client meetings, providing strategic planning input.
4. Identify programme risks and work with project teams to implement mitigation strategies.
5. Use industry-standard planning tools (Asta Powerproject, MS Project) for programme creation, reporting, and analysis.

Requirements:

1. Demonstrable experience in a Senior Planner or Planner role within a Tier 1 main contractor.
2. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
3. Proficient in planning software (Asta Powerproject essential).
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
5. Flexible and willing to travel to sites across the West Midlands.
