Skilled Careers is recruiting an experienced Senior Planner for a leading construction business operating across the Northern Home Counties. The role focuses on leading planning activities across multiple projects and tenders, developing robust programmes to support delivery.

This position requires NEC3/NEC4 contract experience, proficiency in Asta Powerproject, and a collaborative approach to shaping projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes from tender through handover
• Lead programme strategy and sequencing reviews in pre-construction and delivery
• Produce baseline, target and progress programmes
• Monitor performance against milestones and identify risks/opportunities
• Undertake critical path analysis and recovery planning
• Support NEC compensation event assessments and updates
• Ensure NEC contractual compliance and programme obligations
• Present updates to senior stakeholders and clients
• Support bid teams with logistics planning and resource planning
• Mentor junior planners and promote planning best practices

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join an established construction business operating across the Northern Home Counties.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading planning activities across multiple projects and tenders, working closely with project teams, clients, consultants and supply chain partners to develop robust programmes that support successful project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished planning professional with strong NEC contract experience who enjoys working collaboratively and playing a key role in shaping projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes from tender stage through construction and handover.
• Lead programme strategy and sequencing reviews during pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Produce baseline, target and progress programmes using Asta Powerproject.
• Monitor project performance against key milestones, identifying programme risks and opportunities.
• Undertake critical path analysis and develop programme recovery solutions where required.
• Support project teams in managing change through NEC compensation event assessments and programme updates.
• Ensure compliance with NEC contractual requirements and programme obligations.
• Present programme updates and recovery strategies to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Support bid teams with logistics planning, construction methodology development and resource planning.
• Promote planning best practice and provide guidance and mentoring to junior planners.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience in a planning role within the main contracting industry.
• A proven track record of delivering projects under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, planning techniques and critical path methodology.
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to influence project teams and challenge programme performance where necessary.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on construction projects valued at £10m or above.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

• A construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of a recognised professional institution, such as CIOB or RICS.
• Experience across sectors including education, healthcare, residential, defence, commercial or public sector.
• Knowledge of earned value management and delay analysis techniques.
