Job summary

LMR Resourcing is seeking a Senior Piping Stress Engineer for a contract role in Wales. You will perform pipe stress analyses using CAESAR, review piping deliverables, and liaise with clients across project stages from concept through EPC/PMC.

The position is outside IR35 and site-based in West Wales. The candidate should have a mechanical engineering degree, experience in Oil & Gas or related sectors, and familiarity with CAESAR, AutoCAD, and Plant3D.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status preferred but not essential.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Renewable Energy sectors or similar.
• Experience reviewing piping & mechanical deliverables such as isometrics, GA’s, stress analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR; identify pipes requiring review or analysis.
• Conduct formal stress analyses including pressure, thermal, and vibration effects.
• Review pressure, weight, and thermal analyses of piping systems and supports.
• Select standard pipe supports per client requirements and communicate with designers.
• Review project isometrics, supports, and specialty items during piping reviews.
• Participate in meetings (HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews).
• Involvement across concept, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC/PMC stages; liaise with clients.

Senior Piping Stress Engineer – Contract – Wales

Location: West Wales

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the hydrocarbon and clean energy sectors.

This role is deemed to be outside IR35.

Role & Responsibilities

• Pipe stress analysis using CAESAR - identification of pipes requiring review and/or analysis.
• Formal stress analysis in accordance which may include analysis for pressure, thermal and vibration related issues.
• Review of pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems.
• Selection of standard pipe supports for a project according to client requirements.
• Selection of specific pipe supports and communication of support to pipe designers for incorporation on piping design.
• Conducting piping reviews of all project isometrics, supports, and specialty items
• Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews
• Involved in projects at different stages including concept, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC / PMC.
• Liaising with Clients and managing their needs and expectations.
• Ensure all deliverables are aligned with company and client procedures and applicable standards; ensure documents are originated, checked and approved by suitably competent personnel.

Key Skills & Knowledge

• Experience of reviewing and approving Piping/Mechanical deliverables such isometrics, GA’s, stress analysis.
