Job summary

LMR Resourcing is seeking a Senior Piping Stress Engineer for a contract role in West Wales. You will perform pipe stress analysis (CAESAR) and review piping deliverables across FEED/EPC for hydrocarbon, petrochemical and renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role involves calculating pressure, thermal and vibration stresses, selecting appropriate pipe supports, and coordinating with clients and piping designers; on-site work in West Wales and outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Chartered status preferred but not required
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Renewable Energy sectors or similar
• Experience reviewing piping/Mechanical deliverables such as isometrics, GA's, stress analysis
• Experience with CAESAR, AutoCAD, Plant3D or similar

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR and identify pipes for review
• Conduct formal stress analyses for pressure, thermal and vibration issues
• Review pressure, weight and thermal analyses of piping systems and supports
• Select standard pipe supports per client requirements
• Communicate support selections to pipe designers for incorporation
• Review project isometrics, supports and specialty items
• Participate in HAZID, Design and Model Review sessions
• Involve in concept, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC/PMC stages
• Liaise with Clients to manage needs and expectations
• Ensure deliverables align with procedures and standards; ensure proper origination, checking and approval

Senior Piping Stress Engineer - Contract - Wales

Location: West Wales

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the hydrocarbon and clean energy sectors.

This role is deemed to be outside IR35.

Role & Responsibilities

• Pipe stress analysis using CAESAR - identification of pipes requiring review and/or analysis.
• Formal stress analysis in accordance which may include analysis for pressure, thermal and vibration related issues.
• Review of pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems.
• Selection of standard pipe supports for a project according to client requirements.
• Selection of specific pipe supports and communication of support to pipe designers for incorporation on piping design.
• Conducting piping reviews of all project isometrics, supports, and specialty items
• Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews
• Involved in projects at different stages including concept, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC / PMC.
• Liaising with Clients and managing their needs and expectations.
• Ensure all deliverables are aligned with company and client procedures and applicable standards; ensure documents are originated, checked and approved by suitably competent personnel.

Key Skills & Knowledge

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status preferred but not essential.
• Must have proven experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Renewable Energy sectors or similar.
• Experience of reviewing and approving Piping/Mechanical deliverables such isometrics, GA's, stress analysis.
