Job description

We are seeking a Senior Piping Designer for a 12-month contract role, responsible for the preparation and delivery of piping draughting activities while ensuring technical quality within budget and schedule.

The successful candidate will ensure all work aligns with budgets and timelines, maintaining technical standards. Responsibilities include project planning, progress tracking, cost control, managing scope changes with lead engineers and piping designers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, codes, and procedures.

This role requires strong communication skills, as the Senior Piping Designer will collaborate with project management and interdisciplinary teams. They will review and check work outputs, support design department efficiency, maintain document filing systems, update design databases, and mentor design personnel.

The candidate should liaise proactively with lead and principal designers, implement design requirements and software tools like CAD and 3D modeling, and may be required to conduct site surveys and visits. Occasionally, they may act as a design focal point.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry with HNC/NC or equivalent in Piping/Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of draughting techniques.
• Understanding of codes, standards, practices, and statutory documentation across disciplines.
• Awareness of Quality Control, Safety, Environmental methods, and engineering procedures for design.
• Ability to lead and organize a small/medium design team within a project environment.
• Experience with commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of design.
• Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.).
