The Life Cycle segment within Aker Solutions specializes in managing, executing, and delivering small, medium, and large complex projects, including feasibility studies, frame agreements, and EPCI.

Life Cycle UK is supporting a 3-year Frame Agreement primarily covering Maintenance and Modification at Equinor’s offshore platforms: Heidrun, Njord A and B, Asgard A and B, Troll A, B and C, Heimdal, and Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea Norwegian sector, as well as the onshore facility at Tjeldbergodden (Norway). We are looking for engineering and design discipline project personnel to join us.

We are looking for a Senior Piping Designer to join our team based in Aberdeen (AIBP).

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out engineering design tasks ensuring technical quality and safety integrity, performed in a highly competent and efficient manner.
  • Preparing project deliverables according to Aker Solutions procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Preparing discipline deliverables for studies and project estimation.
  • Design development of new/replacement pipe systems using 3D modelling tools, laser scan data, and offshore surveys.
  • Providing input for onshore prefab and offshore installation discipline deliverables.
  • Ensuring delivery according to schedule, within budget, and in line with QA/QC procedures.
  • Liaising with client project and facilities engineering teams to develop and execute modification project scopes for piping.

We think you should have:

  • HNC/HND degree in piping or similar with solid experience in front-end studies, FEED, and/or EPCI projects in the energy sector.
  • Proven track record as a Piping Designer in at least one FEED, E&P, or EPC project.
  • Ability to input and control pipe data in 3D models (E3D/PDMS or Navisworks).
  • Proficiency in making and checking 2D drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Ability to manage and plan your work scope independently.
  • Conscientious, hard-working, and capable of working autonomously.
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong work ethics and proactive mindset.
  • Solution-oriented approach aligned with customer expectations.
  • Accurate, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of Norwegian regulations and standards is preferred but not essential.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid setup with regular visits to the primary office.
  • Interest in developing expertise in Aker Solutions systems and tools and integrating with core project teams.
  • Experience with Equinor Frame Agreements, projects, systems, and tools is a plus.
