Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead piling operations on a major ground engineering project in Clwyd. You will support the Project Manager, coordinate engineering activities across fronts, and ensure RAMS, ITPs and methods are implemented on site.

We require proven piling/ground engineering experience, team leadership, and strong HSE awareness. CSCS is essential; SMSTS/SSSTS preferred. Role duration ~ Sep 2026 for ~5 months, with a £400/day ltd rate, on-site in Clwyd.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Project Engineer on piling, foundations or ground engineering.
• Experience with bored piling, CFA piling, rotary piling, diaphragm walls or foundation works.
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Review and implement RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation.
• CSCS card essential; SMSTS or SSSTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with planning and delivery of piling operations.
• Manage engineering activities across multiple fronts.
• Review RAMS, ITPs, temporary works and construction methodologies.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Monitor quality standards and maintain project documentation.
• Produce progress reports and support commercial and programme requirements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
