Job description


We are seeking an experienced Musculoskeletal qualified physiotherapist who is keen to expand their experience into working with patients with chronic pain problems by working as part of the Pain clinic team delivering the Pain Management Service for Kingston and Richmond foundation Trusts.

The Pain clinic is situated in Teddington Health and Social care centre (THSCC) 18 Queen’s Road, Teddington, TW11 0LR (Behind Teddington Memorial hospital).

You will be enthusiastic & dynamic and with adequate musculoskeletal experience to feel confident in assessing and managing this patient group.

You will be a key member of the Pain Management Service Team, who provide an integrated service to adults referred with persistent pain. The team includes clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, an alexander technique teacher and acupuncturist who work closely alongside consultant anaesthetists who specialise in chronic pain management.

We are a well-established, supportive and innovative service and are currently piloting an initiative to improve the patient pathway for people referred to therapies.

The role will:
• Be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, efficient Physiotherapy service to all appropriate patients referred from the Pain Clinic.
• To deliver Pain management programme with a psychologist or psychotherapist.
• Undertake and deliver individually led classesand 1:1 courses of treatment
• Participate in appropriate audit and research activities within the Pain Management Service.

Applicants must be trained in physiotherapy to the standard required for registration with the Chartered society of physiotherapy & Registered with the HPC.

You should have at least 5-6 years post-qualification experience in a medical setting. Preferably with at least 3 year of musculoskeletal outpatient experience and experience of working with patient with persistent pain. Experience of working with patients within a chronic pain service would be desirable.



Ability to communicate sensitively is essential. You will be a team player, IT literate and demonstrate commitment to updating and maintaining your clinical skills.
