An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to work as part of the Community Outpatient Physiotherapy Services. Clinically you will work in the Physiotherapy Department at the Friarage Hospital Northallerton and Community Outpatient Venues across H & R and Tees. Time will be split roughly 50:50 across H & R and Tees.

This is a Fixed Term Contract and secondment opportunities for current South Tees staff will be considered. The service receives referrals from many sources including Consultants and GPs and operates from a number of different venues.

Applications are invited from Physiotherapists who have post graduate experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy as well as an interest and enthusiasm in this field. The team is friendly and supportive and senior specialists offer clinical supervision and support.

Successful applicants will be part of the Physiotherapy Service in the Trust and there are opportunities for case discussions and an In-Service Training Programme. Staff are also supported in their continuous professional development through clinical supervision. Participation in audit and research is encouraged.

Main duties of the job

  1. To provide an effective and efficient clinical service to patients referred with musculoskeletal conditions or injuries within the framework of clinical governance.
  2. To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme to patients.
  3. To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
  4. Access to advice and support from Senior Specialist Physiotherapists & Advanced Practitioners is available.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Achieved or willing to work towards relevant Post-graduate qualification/training

Experience

  • To have significant post graduate experience as a rotational Band 5 physiotherapist in a broad range of clinical specialities.
  • Experience working within the NHS
  • Experience of working in a musculoskeletal outpatient setting

Knowledge

  • Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in the assessment and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions
  • Experience in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions
  • Evidence of audit and research
  • Evidence of MDT working
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Good understanding of the structure, policies, priorities and format of the NHS
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year (Per annum, pro rata)
