The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a full-time, static Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The role covers thoracic and cardiac surgery, transplantation, and cardiothoracic intensive care pathways.

Applicants should have NHS experience, be HCPC registered, and show commitment to MDT working and service development within acute surgical and critical care settings.

Qualifications

• NHS experience in a rotational post providing a broad range of experience across the core areas of physiotherapy.
• Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a senior post.
• Experience of working with patients with physical health problems.

Responsibilities

• To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care (assessment, treatment and advice) to a complex patient group in specialty.
• If applicable to role, participate in the Senior Physiotherapy general rotational scheme, which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings, some of which are regional specialities.

Senior Physiotherapist

We are delighted to advertise a full time, static Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to work as part of the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team at the Freeman Hospital. The Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team provide specialist and dedicated physiotherapy input to patients requiring thoracic and cardiac surgery, solid organ transplantation and patients requiring cardiothoracic intensive care, including advanced mechanical circulatory support.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and service, support with physiotherapy pathway development and integrate into cardiothoracic multi-professional teams. The successful candidate will be supported by Advanced Physiotherapists in Critical Care, VAD and Transplant and the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for Cardiothoracic. We welcome applications from enthusiastic, committed physiotherapists with experience of working within acute surgical and critical care environments. Existing cardiothoracic physiotherapy experience is desirable.
