Senior Physiotherapist - UCRS

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated Physiotherapist to join our Urgent Community Response Service. You will be a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with demonstrable experience in admission avoidance, rehabilitation, and supporting patients to maximise their independence, self-manage their conditions, and remain safely within their own homes.

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. You will be well organised, able to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Experience across a range of clinical settings is desirable, alongside a sound understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering care in community-based services.

You will be passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and committed to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support timely recovery and rehabilitation.

It is essential that you are a car driver with access to a vehicle for work as you will be expected to travel across the North East Essex area.

Main duties of the job

The primary aim of this role is to deliver person-centred, goal-focused rehabilitation that empowers patients to become active participants in managing their own health and wellbeing, enabling them to remain safely and independently within their own homes. The post holder will undertake comprehensive, holistic assessments and provide evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of this patient group.

As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will play a key leadership role in the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of rehabilitation programmes. You will be responsible for supporting and supervising junior staff and students, while fostering collaborative working across a range of clinical teams and settings. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, embrace innovation and integrated working, and be committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation alongside Consultants, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Associate Practitioners, and Community Support Workers to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.

Experience

• Broad postgraduate experience across a range of clinical areas including working with adults and older people with chronic conditions and complex co-morbidities
• Rehabilitation experience, minimum Band 5 in all core areas: neurology, orthopaedics, respiratory, and care of the elderly
• Experience of working as member of a multidisciplinary team
• Proven experience of working relevant to the care group
• Previous experience in rapid response/admission avoidance, acute or urgent care setting
• Rotational experience including community working
• Supervision of Band 5, Physiotherapy Assistant or Students
• Experience of managing the work of others
• Experience of teaching in-service programmes

Qualifications

• Degree in Physiotherapy
• Evidence of ongoing CPD including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the clinical field
• Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
• Member of CSP
• Member of Special Interest Group
• Recognised registered qualification and further courses and experience relevant to role
