Overview

The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The hospital is a regional centre for Cystic Fibrosis, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. The University Hospital of North Midlands has a large Critical Care Unit and is a regional trauma centre. This experience will give the post holder an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and management skills as well as building clinical expertise that will enhance and broaden clinical skills. Supervision will be provided by the Band 7 Therapists and Principal Therapists with continuous development supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning. The UHNM NHS Trust covers Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke on Trent and County Hospital in Stafford and the Royal Stoke site is a large acute teaching hospital.

Responsibilities
  • The Therapies Team at UHNM are looking for a Senior Physiotherapist to work within respiratory rotations. This is a rotational experience in Critical Care, Surgical Wards & SSCU, Medicine including NIV, Emergency Therapy Team (A&E and Acute Assessment Unit), Frail Elderly, Palliative and Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Applicants will need to have on-call competencies and be experienced in working in a variety of respiratory areas within an NHS setting.
Location and Working Arrangements

The UHNM NHS Trust covers Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke on Trent and County Hospital in Stafford. The hospital operates a 7 day shift system which includes weekend, late shifts, bank holidays and on-call working. The post is based across two hospital sites.

Requirements and Benefits

Flexibility in working arrangements will be considered in line with Trust policies. New recruits may be required to pay for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and related admin fees if applicable.
