The Rotherham Foundation TrustNHS Trust is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Band 6Physiotherapist to join the inpatient integrated medicine team based atRotherham Hospital.We are looking for applicants who have developedknowledge and skills to assess and treat patients with a wide variety ofconditions within the acute setting. If you have a keen interest in providingholistic care to complex medical patients then we would love to hear from you.Our caseload comprises of patients requiringfunctional therapy to maintain, regain or improve their independence that hasdeteriorated secondly to a medical condition. We have an integrated approach topatient assessment, treatment and discharge planning, working closely with ourOT colleagues. Effective team work is essential. The caseload also comprises ofpatients who are transferred from critical care, continuing theirrehabilitation programme to optimise exercise tolerance and functional recovery.There are opportunities to develop clinically,your leadership skills and knowledge, with an expectation to support juniorstaff, therapy support workers and students.There is a big emphasis on service developmentwithin the team.The team also covers a 7 days in which you will bepart of a weekend rota. Main duties of the job

As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will work with a wide range of conditions across medical assessment areas, medical and surgical wards. Your role is to provide a high standard care and support junior staff in creating a seamless patient journey whilst in hospital and support and facilitate discharge on the most appropriate pathway.

You will work alongside other Senior members within the team in driving service improvements and developments within the Inpatient Therapy team to ensure we provide the most efficient patient care. We need to ensure that our patients are receiving the right care in the right place. You will also have the responsibility of the development of rotational staff, support staff and students. You will also be managing and supporting treatments of complex patients.

You will have the responsibility of contributing to the wider organisation in supporting operational flow through the awareness of trust level. You will have a understanding on how we as a Inpatient Therapy team can support and work with our community teams to support discharges and patients on the right exit pathway.

  • Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
