Job summary

Eutelsat is hiring engineers to advance the Physical Layer and Air Interface for its next‑gen satellite systems and the EU IRIS2 program. You will build software tools to model user and feeder links, quantify channel impairments, and analyze RF performance, informing design choices and validation strategies.

You will operate within the System Engineering team, collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the air interfaces meet stringent performance targets while supporting

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of physical layer of digital communication systems.
• Experience with RF impairments and their impact on air interface performance.
• Experience with lab equipment to troubleshoot communications systems.
• Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, Python, and at least one PL modelling tool.

Responsibilities

• Develop software simulation of the user link physical layer (5G based).
• Develop software simulation of the feeder link physical layer (DVB-S2X or similar).
• Assess impact of channel impairments and RF performance via simulations.
• Evaluate system throughput and overhead for various physical layer feature implementations.
• Define and validate air interface technical requirements with vendors.
