Job summary

Medserv is a UK/IE remote role focusing on modernising a healthcare platform that supports medical billing and practice management. You will lead hands-on engineering work, shape architecture and standards, and drive new capabilities across claims, coding, billing automation and practice management.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering experience with ownership of production systems
• Strong PHP experience, Laravel preferred
• Good relational database design with MySQL
• Experience designing production systems and APIs
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership
• Frontend experience with React/TypeScript is a plus
• AI/LLM-assisted product capabilities in production is desirable

Responsibilities

• Design and build reliable, secure production software
• Take ownership of complex technical problems from discovery through production
• Shape architecture, APIs, data models and service boundaries
• Modernise existing systems while supporting live operations
• Write high-quality production code and review critical implementations
• Improve automated testing, reliability, security and observability
• Mentor engineers and establish consistent engineering standards
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate problems into technical solutions
