Become a key part of a fast-growing development team within a thriving Sheffield agency.

We have an opportunity for a Senior PHP Backend Developer with expert Laravel knowledge and great problem-solving skills to join our talented in-house development team.

Our ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience building & maintaining Laravel or similar PHP web applications, with a passion and attitude that fits well with our team.

We are looking for a talented Senior Laravel Developer who will get the opportunity to work on an array of exciting web projects, including websites, web applications, and integrations. Your main tasks will be to build highly proficient web applications to improve and simplify the workings of our partners' operations. This includes new projects and maintaining existing applications built on Laravel PHP. You will also have the responsibility of mentoring junior developers to ensure they are upskilling under the guidance of an experienced developer.

Our technology

Our web development is built on PHP platforms and frameworks with web applications utilizing the power of Laravel for back-end processes. We also utilize front-end technologies like React / Next.js, so knowledge of these will enhance any portfolio we review. Both REST and GraphQL APIs are utilized to integrate and extend the services we provide to our array of clients. We also partner with multiple server/hosting providers such as ANS Group & KDAWS.com to offer the best experience and value to our partners.

What to expect

Your role will kick off with mastering our stack and getting stuck in on a handful of great projects, shadowing other developers, and getting up to speed. You’ll drop into our sprint kick-offs and stand-ups so you have exposure to our processes and learn how we work and who we are.

A key part of what we provide for our partners is helping them find solutions to their problems through web development. A component of this role is to help provide solutions and ideas to solve these problems and to be involved in projects as early as the initial conversations to help shape how it will be developed and brought to life for our partners.

You’ll help to develop, debug, and improve products working alongside other developers and creatives. How do we QC and test work? We have a code review, UAT protocol & GIT deployment process in place.

About you

You are more than a developer; we are building a team with talent, but the individual behind the code is who we want to meet.

When meeting you, we’ll also take a look at your technical interests and track record. Things we’re looking for in a technical capacity include readable, secure, accessible, testable, standards-compliant code.

A graduate degree is not a necessity. We welcome applications from self-taught developers and graduates alike.
