Job summary

Matched Group is seeking an experienced PHP Developer for a 12-month FTC. The role is mostly remote in England with a Berkshire office on day 1 for equipment collection.

You will develop, maintain, and support existing systems using PHP 8+ and Symfony, delivering features within an established codebase. You'll collaborate in an agile environment, implement RESTful APIs, write tests, and contribute to modernising legacy components while emphasising clean, scalable code and effective communication

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial experience with PHP 8+ development.
• Symfony commercial experience.
• RESTful API development and integration.
• Strong HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript skills.
• Strong SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar).
• Linux, Git, Docker.
• Automated unit and integration testing.
• AWS experience (or similar cloud package).
• Strong object-orientated programming, SOLID principles, scalable code practices.
• Strong problem solver.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal systems.
• Deliver work through the full SDLC in an agile environment.
• Investigate and resolve production defects and issues.
• Maintain and modernise legacy applications.
• Write automated unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
