Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in the North East is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy senior leadership team. You will manage the Trust-wide medicines supply service across wards, units and clinics, and lead a team of technicians and support staff.

The role focuses on safe, cost-effective medicines management, developing KPIs, and contributing to procurement.

Qualifications

• Experienced Pharmacy Technician with leadership experience.
• Knowledge of medicines procurement and supply.
• Familiar with NHS policies and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of procurement, stores and dispensary teams; develop objectives and KPIs.
• Oversee medicines procurement, storage and supply across Trust settings.
• Lead recruitment and workforce planning; provide cover for managers.
• Mentor staff and ensure training in medicines systems; manage audits and governance.
• Contribute to seasonal vaccination programmes and system improvements.
• Accredited Checking Technician duties when rostered; investigate medicines incidents.
