Job description

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician with an interest in Cancer Services.

The successful applicant will be part of a busy team working within both a satellite aseptic unit and a satellite dispensary, providing high-quality services including Chemotherapy and other treatments to Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Burton Hospital.

We are willing to accept students qualifying in the upcoming months.

The suitable applicant should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

This diverse role involves dispensing, accuracy checking of oral medication and outsourced IV products, answering queries, and delivering prescriptions. You will also work in our aseptic unit, preparing and manufacturing cytotoxic aseptic items for chemotherapy prescriptions, assisting with cleaning, and participating in ongoing training and development. Management of the unit on a rota basis will also be required.

As our unit experiences growing demand, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your aseptic skills within a cancer care setting.

You will also be involved in organizing and delivering training to new and existing staff, so enthusiasm for inspiring others is essential.
