Job summary

The Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician for bank shifts. The role covers preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient and theatre areas. You will supervise and mentor staff, manage stock, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Salary is up to £20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a flexible bank role to cover busy periods and absences within the Pharmacy Department.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Significant experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
• Strong knowledge of medicines management and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of technical support in preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient and theatre areas.
• Support ward-based services such as stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and discharge preparation.
• Oversee daily work of pharmacy technicians, assistants and trainees, supporting task allocation and workflow management.
• Lead on stock control, ordering and inventory systems to ensure continuous availability of medications.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, SOPs and health & safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy, nursing and medical teams to ensure smooth delivery of medicines.
• Maintain GPhC registration and complete CPD requirements.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in thePharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Provide a high standard of technical support in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient, and theatre areas.

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
