Job summary

The Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey, part of Circle Health Group, invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team on a bank basis. You will dispense medicines, support wards and work with pharmacists to ensure safe distribution, with flexible cover during busy periods.

The role is on a bank basis, requiring registration with the GPhC and NVQ Level 3 Diploma, hospital pharmacy experience, and strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent).
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution.
• Participate in ward-based activities, including stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling (within scope).
• Work closely with pharmacists and nursing teams to support safe and efficient use of medicines at ward level.
• Maintain appropriate levels of stock across all areas of the pharmacy and clinical units.
• Order, receive, and check deliveries, ensuring secure and correct storage of medicines.

Salary: Up to £18.50 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution.
