Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to oversee the Aseptic unit within our Oncology Service. You will work closely with Pharmacists, Technicians and assistants to ensure chemotherapy is prepared on time and to a high standard of care.

You will lead line management and staff development, assist in introducing new medicines, and ensure environmental monitoring aligns with QA/QC regulations. A pivotal role in training rotational technicians.

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC.
• Experience in aseptic unit and oncology environments preferred.
• Strong leadership and training skills for rotational staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of the Aseptic unit and supervision of staff.
• Oversee timely preparation of chemotherapy and high standards of care in Oncology Service.
• Assist in set-up of new medicines and monitor QA/QC environmental requirements.

Job description

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will be working closely with our Pharmacists, Technicians and assistants, and have day-to-day responsibility for ensuring smooth running of the Aseptic unit and all the staff currently working within the unit. This is to ensure all chemotherapy is made within a timely manner and to deliver a high standard of care for our Oncology Service. You will be required to aid in the set-up of new medicines that have come on the market for manufacturing, environmental monitoring in line with QA and QC regulations and be vital in line management and the training and development of rotational technicians.

£58,133 - £65,261 Per annum inclusive of HCAS
