Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Technician based at East HSCP. This post is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity for 12 months.

What you will do:

This is an exciting development opportunity to join our Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Team, NHS Ayrshire & Arran. In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring Safe and Respectful. The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe caring and respectful way. You would be working within various care settings including GP Practice(s) and Care Homes in East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership. The role will be to assist the Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers on a day to day basis to allow the Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Team to deliver its Pharmacotherapy Services; ensuring safe and effective use of medicines.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

N/SVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services and SQA National Certificate pharmaceutical sciences (or equivalent).
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable:
Currently working to or completed further qualification in their related field SQA Higher National Unit – Final Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician or equivalent qualification. PDA Assessment & Supply of individual patient’s medicines Assessor (L&D9DI) for SVQ Level 2 and Level 3 – Pharmacy Services

EXPERIENCE

Essential:
Relevant experience as a qualified pharmacy technician in hospital, community pharmacy or primary care. Portfolio demonstrating competence of previous and current pharmacy practice skills & knowledge, and continuing professional development.

Desirable:
• Experience working in a GP practice
• Experience of project work.
• Experience and knowledge of medicines management.
• Experience of audit work.
• Experience of teaching/mentoring ,managing, appraising and providing feedback to staff

37 hours per week

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
