Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Services Dispenser to support Warrington/ Halton Hospitals. The role involves dispensing for inpatients, discharges and outpatients, using the Prescription Tracker, and ensuring accurate labeling and safety checks.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (Including dispensing module) is required.

Responsibilities

Receive, record and direct work into the department from trust staff.
Use the Prescription Tracker system to input details of prescriptions and orders.
Make checks on receipt of a prescription, including exemptions from charges per Department of Health guidelines.
Identify and prioritise urgent prescriptions for dispensing, ensuring fast tracking, completion and dispatch.
Counsel patients and issue completed prescriptions, addressing queries with a senior colleague as needed.
Produce labels using the Pharmacy Computer system, recording patient numbers and prescription details.
Dispense prescriptions for inpatients, discharge patients and outpatients, including controlled drugs and cytotoxic/unlicensed drugs.
