Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading seeks a Lead Pharmacist for Education, Training and Workforce transformation to shape a modern pharmacy workforce. You will lead education, clinical practice development and strategic partnerships with academia.

The role requires substantial hospital pharmacy experience, a strong track record in education and leadership, and the ability to drive sustained improvements in patient care across services.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) and registration with GPhC.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
• Royal College of Pharmacy membership.
• UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) membership.
• Postgraduate qualifications related to Training & Education.
• Formal leadership/management qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Pharmacy Department's clinical practice and workforce development strategy.
• Oversee development of clinical knowledge, skills and competencies across the pharmacy workforce.
• Act as Educational Programme Director for foundation trainee pharmacists.
• Chair the Education and Training Development Group (ETDG).
• Lead and coordinate recruitment of rotational pharmacists.
• Model high clinical pharmacy standards and drive improvements in services.
• Provide leadership for clinical competency development for on-call pharmacists.
• Support recruitment, supervision and professional development of staff, ensuring a resilient workforce.
• Maintain partnerships with universities and academic institutions.
