Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks a Senior Pharmacist – Community Pharmacy Support Pharmacist to shape and support community pharmacy services across NHSGGC partnerships. Based at Clarkston Court, this part-time fixed-term role focuses on medicines optimisation, independent prescribing initiatives, and delivering innovative services in primary care.

You will lead education and workforce development, collaborate with GP practices and HSCP teams, and contribute to governance and quality

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Independent Prescriber qualification or working towards achieving this.
• Significant post-registration experience as a community pharmacist practitioner.
• Experience delivering community pharmacy services and influencing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience designing and delivering education and training for healthcare professionals.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, organisational, analytical and IT skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of NHS Community Pharmacy Contract services including Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus.
• Act as a key link between community pharmacies, GP practices, HSCP pharmacy teams and NHS Board services.
• Provide expert clinical leadership and specialist pharmaceutical advice to community pharmacists and independent prescribers.
• Support medicines optimisation, prescribing quality improvement and formulary compliance across community pharmacy settings.
• Design, develop and deliver education, training and workforce development programmes for pharmacy teams.
• Lead and contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and innovation projects to enhance patient care.
• Support governance, risk management, incident review and quality assurance activities to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
