Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting a Foundation Pharmacist within Primary Care to deliver safe, patient-centred medicines optimisation across GP practices and care homes.

You will undertake NES Foundation Training (or equivalent), work with a multidisciplinary team, and develop autonomous clinical pharmacy practice in line with NHS policies and local guidance.

This permanent role supports professional registration, ongoing CPD, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• MPharm Degree or equivalent leading to pharmacist registration.
• GPhC registration required.
• Commitment to NES Foundation Training Framework (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of medicines optimisation and safe prescribing practices.
• Experience of clinical pharmacy in primary care and multidisciplinary settings.
• Understanding of medicines legislation, governance and guidelines.
• Experience with prescribing systems and medicines reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services to primary care patients, ensuring safe, effective use of medicines.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses and other professionals; conduct medication reviews and monitor outcomes.
• Promote formulary compliance and support medicines reconciliation and prescribing enquiries.
• Support quality improvement, education for patients and staff, and service development initiatives.
