Senior PET-CT Radiographer/Technologist

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior PET CT Radiographer/Technologist to join our team at the Leeds PET-CT Unit within St James's Hospital.

The successful candidate will have either HCPC or an equivalent voluntary registration, and you must have a background in Nuclear Medicine, preferably with experience of PET-CT, and be experienced in handling and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals. A high level of competency in cannulation is preferable.

You should have a patient-focused attitude to ensure patient care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. We are looking for a flexible, adaptable team player who has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate your experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT, and also:

Main duties of the job

Although we expect the successful candidate to have an established level of competence in PET-CT, you will also undertake a competency programme in PET-CT to develop your knowledge and help you gain a full understanding Training will be delivered in collaboration with the Christie School of Oncology via the PET-CT training academy. You will also be required to IV cannulate patients as part of the role.

The following are additions to the role:

  • Experience and knowledge in area of expertise essential
  • BSc/DCR in Diagnostic Radiography and/or Diploma in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent is essential.
  • Awareness of, and compliance with Alliance Medical Policies and Procedures, Radiation Regulations (IRMER, IRR 99 and EPR 2010) if modality requires this, CQC requirements and Health and Safety legislation
  • Awareness of, and compliance with Data Protection and Patient confidentiality
  • Undertake initial and refresher mandatory training to ensure compliance at all times
