Job summary

Addington Ball in the West Midlands is seeking a Personal Tax Senior to take ownership of a personal tax portfolio, delivering compliance and advising on planning and IHT matters.

You will work closely with the Tax Director and Tax Manager, developing advisory skills toward CTA, with hybrid working and strong mentorship to grow your private client expertise. The role offers autonomy from day one and a clear path to CTA, with exposure to Trusts, Estates and IHT.

Qualifications

• Solid personal tax compliance experience and confidence managing your own portfolio.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and HMRC.
• Able to take ownership of deadlines and workflow without needing close supervision.
• ATT qualification would be ideal, although strong qualified-by-experience (QBE) candidates will be equally considered.
• An interest in developing further into private client advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a portfolio of personal tax clients and their compliance requirements
• Manage your return workflow, tracker and key deadlines
• Build direct client relationships and liaise with HMRC
• Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities arising from compliance work
• Support more complex private client work, including Trusts, Estates and IHT matters
