The Economics & Analytics Group provides economic analysis to help shape policy, based on insights from economic theory and empirical research. We strive to be thought leaders in applying economics to benefit UK consumers and citizens in communication matters.
The purpose and scope of the role
The successful candidate will provide Senior PA support to the Group Director for the Economics and Analytics Group and, when required, support other Personal Assistants working with Directors and senior leaders within the business function.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Proactive diary management and coordination, assessing meeting priorities, booking external and internal meetings, and making all administrative and travel arrangements.
- Being a first point of contact for senior external stakeholders and their offices.
- Assist with the preparation, collation, and printing of meeting papers, ensuring all relevant papers and agendas are prepared (including commissioning papers when required).
- Build meeting agendas and coordinate logistics, including taking actions/minutes of meetings as required.
- Workday delegate for the Group Director, submitting expenses, timesheets, or approving on their behalf.
- Produce clear written documents such as letters, reports, and emails, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Use initiative to respond to enquiries, aiding their resolution and pre-empting difficulties when necessary.
- Proactively build strong working relationships with other Group Director PAs across Ofcom.
- Provide additional support to the team on shared tasks and other duties that reasonably fall within the role's purpose, as needed.
The skills, knowledge, and experience you’ll need for success
- Proven experience supporting senior executives' diaries, including travel and events.
- Ability to produce clear written documents such as letters and emails with excellent attention to detail.
- Evaluating problems: Proactively identify insights and solutions with minimal guidance. This role suits a personable, calm individual willing to handle whatever comes their way and work collaboratively.
- Executing plans and embracing change: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with judgment to prioritise tasks and set goals, while remaining flexible and owning responsibilities.
- Relationship management and communication: Effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- System knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Office, SharePoint; familiarity with Workday is desirable.
