Job Description

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline's expertise.

We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join our trackside and simulator performance group. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or F2, aiming to optimize car performance, tools, and team operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support simulator sessions, test days, and race events as part of the performance engineering team.
  2. Analyze simulation, simulator, and on-track data to provide actionable insights and performance recommendations.
  3. Assist in decision-making during events through detailed analysis and feedback.
  4. Contribute to simulator/model correlation efforts through analysis and model refinement.
  5. Communicate effectively with engineers, drivers, and technical staff.
  6. Develop and enhance in-house performance tools (Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar).
Candidate Profile
Required:
  • 3–5 years of experience in high-level motorsport performance engineering.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and race performance.
  • Experience with motorsport data analysis tools, preferably ATLAS.
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools, preferably Canopy.
  • Methodical, precise, and analytical approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially under pressure.
Nice to Have:
  • Advanced coding skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
  • Experience with simulator/model correlation.
  • Previous Formula E experience is a significant advantage.
Education & Background
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to team success.
