We employ over 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

Everyone at Starling gets the chance to own interesting things from day one, and we're told one of the best things about working here is the ability to achieve a lot in a short space of time.

Our mission is to change banking for good. We can't do that without our dedicated and passionate employees. Our People team deals with all aspects of our employee journey - talent acquisition, employee onboarding, talent management, total rewards and employee experience and culture.

We are now looking for a Senior People Partner to join the team. In this role you will take a lead in delivering our People plan at Starling and will support either our Corporate and/or Banking functions. Some of the areas you will be working on are:

  • Culture and Engagement - play a key role in listening to employee feedback, identifying areas for improvement and delivering change to support and promote our culture
  • Coaching and Development - work with senior leaders and managers to improve/enhance their leadership effectiveness by providing day to day advice and feedback
  • Reward - inform decision making for reward processes and provide market analysis and insight
  • Talent Management - identify and actively manage our talent ensuring we retain and develop our people
  • Recruitment, planning and onboarding - working with our in-house recruitment resources to grow talented, diverse teams
  • Organisational Design - provide proactive advice to improve the effectiveness of our teams and manage change as we scale
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding - Partnering with our Talent Acquisition Team to ensure we continue to hire strong candidates and meet the resource needs of our growing business
  • HR Operations and MI - provide input to the People Operations team to ensure accurate data and take responsibility for reporting to support our people decision-making

Requirements
  • Significant experience in an HR or a People function, which has given you a solid grounding as a generalist;
  • Experience working in financial services;
  • A strength/preference in Reward, Engagement or Talent Management would be a useful addition to the team;
  • An understanding of Risk and Regulatory requirements, and a willingness to develop your knowledge further;
  • Strong execution skills and acute attention to detail;
  • An ability to operate within a fast paced, growing business environment; to continuously improve and adapt to change business requirements;
  • Numerate, with an evidence-based approach to decision making;
  • Able to deliver effective results and meet deadlines in a flexible, organic, fast-paced environment.

Benefits
  • 25 days holiday (plus take your public holiday allowance whenever works best for you)
  • An extra day's holiday for your birthday
  • Annual leave is increased with length of service, and you can choose to buy or sell up to five extra days off
  • 16 hours paid volunteering time a year
  • Salary sacrifice, company enhanced pension scheme
  • Life insurance at 4x your salary & group income protection
  • Private Medical Insurance with VitalityHealth including mental health support and cancer care. Partner benefits include discounts with Waitrose, Mr&Mrs Smith and Peloton
  • Generous family-friendly policies
  • Incentives refer a friend scheme
