Job summary

Sammons Group is seeking an experienced Pensions Scheme Actuary in the West Midlands to lead multiple pension schemes, deliver regulated guidance, and shape client strategy. The role focuses on efficiency, external representation, and coaching others toward actuarial qualification.

You will provide senior-level actuarial advice, attend governance meetings, and drive growth across trustee and client relationships. Hybrid working arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
• Current Scheme Actuary Practicing Certificate.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of Scheme Actuary appointments.
• Broad industry exposure post-qualification, with strong knowledge of DB pension schemes.
• Expertise in pension scheme accounting, covenant valuation, and regulatory frameworks (tPR, PPF, FAS).
• Experience delivering regulated investment advice is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as Scheme Actuary for multiple pension schemes, delivering expert guidance and regulated advice.
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and evolve business practices.
• Represent the firm externally, building networks and driving client growth.
• Provide senior peer review and coach colleagues towards actuarial qualification.
• Attend trustee, client, and internal meetings
