Job title: Senior Penetration Tester - Assistant Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

The Role

At KPMG, we are looking for an Assistant Manager passionate about hacking and information security. You should have experience in CHECK work in data centres and be capable of leading teams of talented testers. We offer unique government and commercial projects and a supportive team environment.

The Team

The KPMG Cyber Defence (CDS) Team conducts client-facing technical assurance and penetration testing, with expertise in Financial Services, Defence Assurance, and Telecommunications. We collaborate with NCSC and participate in CREST testing schemes, providing challenging and unique work. Our team operates across Leeds, Bristol, and London, offering flexibility and remote work options.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver testing and oversee junior testers
  • Perform peer reviews of deliverables (QA)
  • Share knowledge and develop skills
  • Gather and incorporate client feedback
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Understand KPMG's broader security offerings
  • Contribute to proposals and client presentations
The Person

Required

  • Passion for hacking
  • Strong understanding of penetration testing and red-teaming, including NCSC and CREST schemes
  • Experience delivering security testing
  • Experience in UK cybersecurity industry
  • Knowledge of information security principles
  • Technical background in computing, networks, and programming
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables independently and in teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in working with multinational clients

Advantageous

  • Experience in secure environments (List X, ISO17025 labs)
  • R&D and Threat Intelligence experience
  • Application testing experience
Qualifications and Skills
