Senior Payroll Specialist
This role is within our client's Payroll & Benefits team, comprising 5 specialists and 2 administrators.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage UK payroll (iHCM2), including input collection, processing cycle monitoring, and timely sign-off.
- Ensure accurate loading of pension/benefits data onto payroll monthly.
- Handle monthly Flex benefit changes.
- Process payrolls for 6 European locations on a rolling basis, owning processes and risk controls.
- Develop expertise in designated regions.
- Coordinate with team members to cover payroll for Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Dubai, Sweden, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Israel, Cyprus) using ADP Streamline.
- Communicate with payroll providers regarding country-specific requirements.
- Prepare payroll funding within deadlines and liaise with finance for international payments.
- Post payroll reporting and support new branch payroll setups.
- Maintain high-quality customer service, responding to employee queries promptly.
- Ensure UK annual filings (P11D, Form 42, PSA, STBV) and German filings are completed.
- Assess additional filing needs across locations.
- Calculate taxes on stock vestings, process confirmation statements, and ensure proper withholding.
- Create manuals and procedures for stock vesting activities.
- Perform manual calculations and employee payment submissions as needed.
- Liaise with HR and the broader business on payroll queries.
- Maintain employment records and generate HR reports.
- Lead projects related to payroll processes and system improvements.
Person Specification
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll and legislation.
- Experience with European payrolls and processes.
- Understanding of UK and European Tax Year End procedures.
- Proven ownership of regional payrolls and processes.
- Basic accounting knowledge related to payroll.
- Project management skills and leadership experience.
- Familiarity with SOX IPE requirements.
Qualifications & Preferred Background
- Experience in a large Financial Services firm preferred.
- Knowledge of ADP, PeopleSoft, or Oracle Fusion systems is advantageous.
