Job summary

Fulham Football Club Limited is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll for the Fulham Group, handling a diverse workforce across football operations, hospitality and charity projects. The role reports to the Head of Finance and requires strong technical payroll knowledge and stakeholder management.

You will oversee monthly payroll delivery, ensure GDPR-compliant processes, and drive improvements to automation and controls across the group.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing or taking senior responsibility for an end-to-end UK payroll function.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation including PAYE, NI, pensions and RTI.
• Experience handling a large, multi-population payroll with varied pay structures.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end payroll across the Fulham Group, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review inputs (salaries, bonuses, overtime, deductions) with appropriate approvals.
• Oversee changes for starters, leavers, amendments, and promotions with strong controls.
• Manage payroll compliance, including PAYE, NI, RTI, pensions and HMRC requirements.
• Own payroll reconciliations to GL, bank payments and HMRC liabilities.
• Collaborate with Finance and HR to reflect payroll costs in monthly accounts.
• Provide payroll support to employees and senior stakeholders; develop the team.
• Lead year-end tasks (P60s, P11Ds) and support audits.
• Maintain confidential, GDPR-compliant payroll records and controls.
