The main purpose of this role is to lead on the operation of the company’s pension schemes and to co-ordinate employee and employer payments. You will be responsible for the administration of all pension payments and reporting requirements for LGPS and NHS pension schemes. You will also support Expenses administration and oversee the administration of the company’s death in service insurance and other employee benefits.

Main Duties
  1. Lead the administration of the company personal pension scheme, including setting up new employees in line with auto-enrolment deductions, ensuring compliance with legislation, and liaising with scheme actuaries and Trustees.
  2. Monitor changes in employee roles, hours, and salary to satisfy auto-enrolment conditions.
  3. Act as the main contact for all Pension Schemes, including LGPS and NHS schemes.
  4. Manage administration of pension scheme transfers under TUPE regulations, coordinating with HR and payroll.
  5. Liaise with new employers regarding TUPE and complete necessary administration work.
  6. Maintain Public Sector Contracts and ensure legislative compliance, adhering to payment and reporting schedules.
  7. Manage general pension administration with external advisors, providing data as needed.
  8. Oversee the Life Assurance Scheme, liaising with beneficiaries professionally and sensitively.
  9. Provide employee benefits data for annual renewal processes.
  10. Handle employee claims related to benefits and manage them to completion.
  11. Collaborate with payroll team to manage pension-related inquiries, complaints, and retirement applications.
  12. Use the iTrent payroll system for ongoing case monitoring and benefits payments.
  13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheme database information.
  14. Assist in managing and reporting P11Ds and PSAs.
  15. Address pension and tax-related queries confidently and professionally.
  16. Review and authorize colleagues’ work, providing mentoring and development support.
  17. Work with technical colleagues on legislative or system changes affecting the scheme.
  18. Provide on-the-job training to administrative staff as needed.
  19. Engage with employees nearing retirement to offer guidance and support.
General Duties:
  1. Complete and submit weekly timesheets accurately.
  2. Perform all work aligned with project and service principles.
  3. Follow the company's Equal Opportunities Policy.
  4. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  5. Adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines for good practice.
  6. Prepare monthly management reports and attend meetings.
  7. Perform any other duties as required.
Hours of Work:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours between 8am and 5pm based on organizational needs.

Bank Holidays:

Enhanced pay for working at Christmas and New Year; no enhancements for evenings, weekends, or other public holidays.
