Job description

Senior Pay & Conditions Officer (Hybrid) needed in Stoke on Trent, £281.12 per day

PAYE – Reference: 5270551

To provide an effective pay, conditions and pensions service ensuring the timely and accurate processing of information into the HR/payroll system and third-party systems.

  1. To provide proactive professional HR, pension and payroll support, advice and guidance to managers, employees/clients including but not limited to employee relations, welfare, pensions, and pay and conditions issues.
  2. To ensure that all contractual, statutory, and pension changes—including those related to commencements, auto-enrolment, terminations, and changes in terms and conditions—are correctly and accurately processed through appropriate systems to meet deadlines.
  3. To liaise, make enquiries with, and respond to all requests for relevant information from employees, internal and external clients, pension authorities, government agencies, and other external organizations using all available communication methods.
  4. To supervise the completion and dispatch of employment documentation within deadlines by the Pay & Conditions Officers.
  5. To review pre- and post-payroll reports, correct errors, and ensure accuracy.
  6. To reconcile and balance payrolls, inform Accounts and Academies of funding, and communicate with third parties within deadlines.
  7. To calculate estimates for pensions, redundancies, settlement agreements, and notice payments, providing cost information to the employer.
  8. To process file transmissions via BACS for net payments to staff and deductions from third-party organizations.
  9. To supervise the calculation and processing of emergency manual payments to employees/clients via the banking system.
  10. To calculate and liaise with Solicitors, Risk, and Insurance Services regarding Third Party Claims.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
