Job description

We’re Acquired

Acquired is a next-generation payments business focused on powering recurring commerce.

Acquired is a next-generation payments business focused on powering recurring commerce.

Our next-generation payment infrastructure and solutions unify and optimise customers' payment ecosystem, providing a competitive advantage and helping them achieve their goals in the digital economy.

We combine this capability with exceptional sector expertise and a highly personal, tailored service focused on long-term partnerships with our customers.

We’re scaling as a business, so if you thrive in an environment that’s constantly evolving, where purpose-driven culture is seen as an enabler to achieve the extraordinary and where our unique differences are celebrated, we could be the place for you!

Role Overview

The Senior Partner Development Manager – Financial Services is a hybrid role within the Commercial team, combining hands‑on management of our existing Financial Services partner ecosystem with the origination of new platform (ISV), SI, and consultancy partnerships. Reporting directly to the Head of Partnerships FS, you’ll grow revenue both by deepening current partnerships and by building a pipeline of net‑new strategic partners across Debt Recovery, Lending, Insurance and Wealth Management.

This role blends account management with business development. You’ll need the relationship discipline to nurture and grow an existing portfolio, and the entrepreneurial drive to open new doors from a cold start.

Critically, every new partner you sign is also a new lead source: you’re responsible for activating each one as a genuine channel for the direct sales team, not just landing a logo.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
  • Manage a portfolio of existing FS partnerships, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying untapped revenue opportunities within their client bases.
  • Act as the primary liaison between partners, the internal SDR Outreach Engine, and the direct sales team to ensure a consistent flow of qualified leads.
  • Monitor “Net Revenue” performance per existing partner, accounting for direct costs and bad debt provisions to ensure high-quality growth.
New Partner Origination & Recruitment
  • Build and own a pipeline of net‑new FS platform (ISV), SI, and consultancy partners across Debt Recovery, Lending, Insurance, and Wealth Management.
  • Proactively identify and approach target partners, using market mapping, networking, and outbound prospecting to build relationships from a cold start.
  • Qualify potential partners against strategic fit, market reach, and revenue potential before progressing to commercial discussions.
Channel Activation for Direct Sales
  • Activate every new partner as a lead‑generation channel for the direct sales team, embedding referral processes that turn signed agreements into a consistent flow of qualified pipeline.
  • Work with Sales leadership to define how partner‑source opportunities are routed, prioritised, and followed up, so partners become a repeatable source of new business rather than one‑off wins.
  • Track partner‑source pipeline and conversion into Sales, using the data to prove out and expand the channel over time.
Deal Structuring & Commercial Negotiation
  • Lead commercial negotiations with prospective partners, structuring agreements that balance mutual value, referral economics, and long‑term revenue potential.
  • Own the “Net Revenue” business case for each new partnership, factoring in direct costs and bad debt provisions to ensure high‑quality growth from day one.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Legal and Finance to get new partnership agreements signed and ready for launch.
Launch & Enablement
  • Own onboarding and enablement of new partners, ensuring they’re fully trained on the Acquired value proposition (Recurring Payments, Smart Recovery and VRP) before go‑live.
  • Partner closely with the scoping/solutions team to translate new partnerships into live, revenue‑generating integrations.
  • Transition newly‑launched partners smoothly into ongoing account management once they’re live and generating leads.
Pipeline Ownership & Forecasting
  • Maintain clean, accurate data in HubSpot across both the existing partner book and the new‑partner pipeline, providing the Head of Partnerships with reliable forecasting.
  • Report on origination KPIs (partners approached, signed, launched) alongside existing‑partner growth and downstream revenue impact.
Market Advocacy & Intelligence
  • Represent Acquired at key industry events (e.g., IFX, SubscriptionX) to build a pipeline of relationships with FS platforms and SIs.
  • Track competitor partner programs and market shifts, feeding intelligence back to Product to influence the FS roadmap.
Key Competencies
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build deep trust with complex FS stakeholders and sustain it over the life of the partnership.
  • Channel Building: Able to turn a signed partner into a genuine, repeatable pipeline source for the direct sales team — not just a logo on a slide.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Comfortable building a partner pipeline from zero — thrives on the hunt for new logos as much as growing existing ones.
  • Deal‑Making: Skilled negotiator who can structure commercial agreements that work for both sides.
  • Analytical Thinking: Understands the Net Revenue model and bad debt impacts on FS deals, and uses it to prioritise both the existing book and the pipeline.
  • Communication: Able to articulate technical payment concepts (VRP, cVRP, API logic) clearly to non‑technical commercial audiences.
You’ll Bring
  • Experience: 5+ years in Partnership, Channel Sales, or Business Development, ideally within Payments or FinTech, with a track record spanning both portfolio management and new‑partner origination.
  • Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Financial Services landscape (Lending, Collections, Insurance, Wealth Management, or FX).
  • Track Record: Proven ability to grow an existing partner portfolio and build a pipeline from scratch, closing six‑figure‑plus commercial agreements.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot) and familiarity with AI‑driven outreach tools (Clay, Lemlist).
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment during a major product rollout (Billing Engine).
Behaviours
  • The "All In" Attitude and mindset: Ready to achieve results, support the team challenge and the broader strategic focus.
  • Collaborator: Works seamlessly across Marketing, Product, and Sales to ensure partners have what they need to succeed.
  • Detail‑Oriented: Focused on the "Last Mile" of partnership execution—ensuring integrations go live and revenue starts flowing.

We have high expectations and work hard to deliver exceptional results.

We value open and honest communication and are committed to listening to our people. Your ideas make us better.

You’ll be collaborating with high performing teams and people who challenge you, support you, and will inspire you to be extraordinary!
