Senior HR Advisor (Part-Time)

Location: London (Hybrid Working Available)

Salary: Up to £63,000 pro rata

Start Date: May 2025

Working Pattern: 2 days per week (either Monday & Tuesday or Thursday & Friday - to be confirmed)

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their dynamic HR Business Partnering team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-impact people initiatives in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Applicants must have relevant HR experience within a law firm.

The Role

Working closely with the HR Business Partnering team, you’ll support and deliver people priorities aligned with the firm’s global People and Talent Strategy. This includes working across a defined client group comprising partners, fee-earners, and business professionals. You’ll provide trusted advice to key stakeholders and support the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, talent acquisition, career development, compensation, inclusion, wellbeing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. People Strategy & Advisory
    • Embed people priorities in line with global and regional strategies
    • Be a trusted advisor to stakeholders, applying policies consistently
    • Participate in global/regional HR projects
  2. Employee Relations
    • Provide guidance on low-risk ER issues
    • Support performance, absence and parental leave processes
    • Manage flexible working requests
  3. Data & Reporting
    • Assist with quarterly headcount planning and HR reporting
    • Ensure data accuracy across systems and documentation
  4. Talent Management & Development
    • Coordinate evaluation and promotion processes
    • Support international secondments and transfers
    • Assist with onboarding work experience and student placements
  5. Recruitment & Induction
    • Draft job descriptions and manage approvals for roles up to Manager level
    • Deliver induction sessions for new joiners and NQs
  6. Compensation & Benefits
    • Support year-end compensation and reward processes
  7. Exit Management
    • Conduct exit interviews and escalate key themes
  8. Inclusion & Wellbeing
    • Help deliver inclusion and wellbeing strategies and action plans
    • Engage in employee listening activities to enhance the people experience

Requirements

About You

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines

Experience & Knowledge

  • Significant HR experience within a law firm is essential
  • Exposure to employee relations, performance management, and HR processes
  • Ideally experienced in a professional services or matrix/global environment
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office and HR best practices
  • Interest in employment law (working knowledge desirable)

Qualifications

  • Ideally CIPD qualified or equivalent HR certification
