Job summary

Phyllis Tuckwell Memorial Hospice Ltd in Farnham, Surrey, is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to lead nursing on the Inpatient Unit and deliver high-quality palliative care for patients and families.

You will provide clinical leadership, coordinate care with MDTs, and support learning and development through education opportunities and supervision. The role requires NMC registration and experience in inpatient palliative care.

Qualifications

• RGN degree level qualification.
• Current NMC registration in adult or general nursing.
• Experience in an inpatient setting and in palliative care.
• Excellent communication, prioritisation and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in partnership with patients, families and carers.
• Experience in a leadership role with ongoing commitment to learning.
• Resilience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate palliative care interventions based on an agreed plan of care for patient and family.
• Provide optimal symptom management, psychological and emotional support to patients and carers.
• Lead and support nursing colleagues, ensuring high standards of care.
• Liaise with MDT and external partners to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Adhere to NHS/PT policies and participate in clinical governance and supervision.
