Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking a Senior Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join our team on-site at University Hospitals Plymouth. You will contribute to compassionate, patient-centred end-of-life care with a multidisciplinary team, focusing on dignity and comfort for patients and their families.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification, plus recent experience in caring for patients at end of life.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
• Recent experience caring for patients at end of life.
• Knowledge and understanding of person-centred care.
• Clear, sensitive communicator capable of informed decisions.
• Prioritises patient care, comfort and privacy.
• Experience within a multidisciplinary team, assisting in assessments and care plans.
• Knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist with skin integrity and personal hygiene.
• Conduct nutrition assessments and support comfort and rest.
• Support mobility, monitor vitals, and maintain a clean, safe care environment.
