Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London invites applications for a Senior Spinal Fellow (ST6+) in Spinal Surgery. The fixed-term post runs for 12 months from August 2027 to provide training in paediatric/adolescent spinal surgery.

Qualifications

• Post FRCS Orth with 6–12 months experience in paediatric orthopaedics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of principles of clinical governance.
• General paediatric orthopaedics knowledge of basic texts/conditions.
• Desirable: Clinical experience in related paediatric specialties.
• Desirable: Published research in peer reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Work with consultants in paediatric spinal surgery and assist with clinics and theatre lists.
• Participate in all activities offered within the department, including theatre lists when possible.
• Attend teaching sessions and ward rounds; induction for junior staff.
