Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Radiographer to join our dynamic, friendly team, to play a key role in maintaining and improving standards and quality of patient services. It is an exciting time to join our team, with a wide scale equipment replacement program in progress across the Trust.

The post is based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Oxford Road site and includes training if required and rotation through general X-ray, theatre and mobile imaging, fluoroscopy, CT/MR as necessary.

Role and responsibilities

The post holder will adhere to good practices of radiographic technique and follow the acknowledged safe practices of radiation protection standards and Trust procedure guidance. They will provide high quality radiographic images that will assist in patient diagnosis, treatment and management of care.

The Radiology department is evolving. It is a small and friendly facility offering you the chance to develop skills in all areas of general radiography, with rotation into CT & MRI and opportunities to progress into specialist areas.

  • Operate as a senior member of the Radiology multidisciplinary team, working independently, using initiative, clinical skills, knowledge, and organisational skills to provide an efficient and high-quality imaging service
  • Manage patients and priorities in a caring, professional manner
  • Encourage the highest professional and technical standards, mentoring and supervising junior and rotational staff, including students
  • Ensure all staff in area of responsibility are suitably trained and monitored to prevent untoward incidents and ensure formal learning
  • Maintain commitment to professional development and keep a CPD portfolio up to date
  • Participate in Governance activities in areas such as Risk Management, Health and Safety and Audit
Qualifications and requirements
  • Have a BSc Radiography/ DCR
  • Be HCPC Registered
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be organized and able to prioritise workload
  • Be flexible
