Overview

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Paediatric Radiographer at the Royal Manchester Children\'s Hospital, Oxford Road site. The closing date is 13 October 2025.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Radiographer to join our dynamic, friendly team to maintain and improve standards and quality of patient services. It is an exciting time to join our team, with a wide-scale equipment replacement program in progress across the Trust. The post is based at the Royal Manchester Children\'s Hospital and includes training if required and rotation through general X-ray, theatre and mobile imaging, fluoroscopy, CT/MR as necessary. The post holder will adhere to good radiographic practices and safe radiation protection standards and trust procedure guidance. They will provide high quality radiographic images that assist in patient diagnosis, treatment and management of care. The department offers opportunities to rotate into CT & MRI and progress into specialist areas as needed.

Main duties of the job
  • Have a BSc Radiography/ DCR
  • Be HCPC Registered
  • Have Excellent communication skills
  • Be organized and able to prioritise workload
  • Be flexible

You will operate as a senior member of the Radiology multi-disciplinary team, working independently, using initiative, clinical skills, knowledge, and organisational skills to provide an efficient and high-quality imaging service, whilst dealing with patients and managing patient priority in a caring professional manner.

You will encourage the highest professional and technical standards in all staff using personal example and constructive supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring all junior and rotational staff, including students, operating in their area of responsibility are suitably trained, mentored, and monitored to prevent untoward incidents and ensure effective formal learning.

You will maintain a commitment to professional development and a high level of technical and theoretical skills ensuring a personal CPD portfolio of evidence is kept up to date and participate in the governance of the department in areas such as Risk Management, Health and Safety and Audit activities.
