Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder with take the lead on delegated studies being responsible for their development, implementation and progress. They will take a proactive approach in identifying and recruiting potential research participants, in addition to carrying out clinical interventions. The post holder will be responsible for precise and timely data entry to ensure the highest validity of research is carried out. The post holder will be the main point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors and patients and therefore excellent communication and team working skills are essential. The post holder will deliver high quality patient care to ensure patients and their families feel supported throughout their research journey. Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse - Currently registered with the NMC
  • Degree in healthcare subject or equivalent level of experience

Desirable criteria

  • ICH-Good Clinical Practice certificate
  • Mentorship training
  • Additional specialist training

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Understanding of clinical research
  • Knowledge of ICH-Good Clinical Practice regulations relating to clinical research

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of clinical and research governance
  • Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures

Training and experience

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience of working in a clinical environment
  • Proven experience of working to deadlines
  • Proven experience of dealing with a busy workload
  • Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
