Job summary

NHS Jobs in Exeter is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) for the Paediatric Assessment Unit. The post involves supporting the Registered Nursing team, delivering patient-centred care for Children and Young People, and working within a busy PAU linked to the Emergency Department.

You will receive bespoke HCSW training, mandatory study days, and other opportunities including mental health study sessions; a peer support group led by Band 6 will also be available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Children and Young People (CYP).
• Evidence of core clinical skills including Phlebotomy and ECG.
• Ability to perform observations (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, respirations).

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing team in assessment and delivery of care for CYP on PAU.
• Support paediatric ward and paediatric outpatients when required.
• Provide patient-centred care and family support.
• Support Healthcare Apprentices and student nurses as needed.
